People should keep IMEI number with them somewhere else apart from phone. Sometimes unwantedly we loose our phone like one of my friend did. He forgot his phone in a Bus. When he went to police and Cyber Police. They were asking about IMEI. and unluckily he didn’t have his smart phone’s bill also.
First of all you need to know What is IMEI Number and for what you need it after your phone or other device has stolen.
An IMEI is a serial number that uniquely identifies a GSM or UMTS mobile phone. Typically 15 digits long, the IMEI code is broken into sections that provide information about a phone, such as its manufacturer, to the mobile network that the phone is connected to. IMEI numbers of stolen devices are blacklisted in some countries so that the phone can not easily be used by a thief. CDMA’s new MEID identifier system is compatible with the existing IMEI structure.
Also known as: “International Mobile Equipment Identity”
For making assurance of your device police need to know about your IMEI number. with this ID only they can trace your mobile or other device.
If you didn’t note your IMEI do it now just dial in your device *#06# or click on setting than scroll down and you will find about phone or about tab click on it and click on status tab. you will find your IMEI here.
